The bar area is cozy. Outdated furniture detracted from the overall experience.

Accommodating staff made my stay a great experience. The venue was set in the central position just off a pub, restaurants and the town centre. It was a minute walk from Toro Steakhouse, where you can have dinner.

The room felt cluttered and dirty, with sinks blocked and an unbearable smell of air freshener. Some guests experienced mite bites, leading to concerns about cleanliness. The discomfort was compounded by loud traffic noise with no double glazing, old carpeting, and broken furniture in need of replacement.

The hotel is conveniently located near local eateries.
I experienced numerous issues . My room had a faint smell of cigarettes. The bathroom drain also emitted a terrible odor, made it difficult to use. The single-glazed windows allowed traffic noise to seep in from early morning, disrupting my sleep.

* The food in the Bar was very good, and a reasonable price. * Breakfast was also very good, and well worth the extra £5!. * Rooms are tidy, and clean with plenty of tea, coffee and milk. * Central town location, with plenty of shops. * Ideal if your on a budget, or looking for an overnight stay on Business / passing through. * Staff were OK.
* No Double Glazing on the windows - please consider fitting some, because being Saturday night, it was very noisy with cars racing up and down the street and partygoers shouting into the early hours (01:30)! * Curtains not thick enough, and did not fit properly - curtain rail was too small, so let in all the light from the buildings security lights below. * Car Park is very, very small, you can get blocked in very easily, but there are some parking spaces across the road from the hotel - if your happy in leaving your car in the street or need to leave very early! * No basic information in the room - How to connect to Wireless? - What time is Breakfast? - Bar / Restaurant Menu? etc.

The four poster room was great a real treat such a comfortable bed and warm room
The breakfast was awful it was served from 9am til 10 am ,we went down at 9am but nothing was ready the water boiler did not get the right heat at all over that hour. there was a large glass fridge with dishes of jams butter and sauces in it with 2 jugs of milk. the orange juice cooler was almost empty and it tasted off. the cooked breakfast was swimming in beans, the tomatoes tasted bitter. there was one piece of bacon and one sausage which i think was deep fried. hash browns were ok as were the fried eggs. one thing about the room there was no mirror in the room to use while drying your hair.

The receptionist was friendly. There was an iron and ironing board in every room.
The cooked breakfast was dreadful small and very poor quality; while the service was unfriendly. We decided to have breakfast else where on the second day. We hoped to try the restaurant but on both the evenings we stayed there were private parties in the restaurant. We don’t mind loud parties but it did mean it was unpleasant to sit in the bar (which was also grim) and difficult to sleep as our room was above the restaurant. The room and bathroom could do with a refurbishment, some shocking bodge jobs. Individually I could forgive these displeasures but put all theses things together, bad food, noise and unfriendly staff we thought The Rothwell House Hotel the worst we have ever stayed in – Maybe with have just been lucky!

The truth you're looking for
The room was spacious, clean, and surprisingly quiet, nice for a refreshing night's sleep. Staff were helpful, even assisting with luggage. The amount of tea and coffee provided was generous, and the Wi-Fi worked seamlessly. Truly a place where hospitality shines through. Worth every penny!
